Charles A. Darku , Chief Executive

Mr. Charles A. Darku is an experienced engineer who worked with the Volta River Authority (VRA) for over twenty- seven (27) years. Prior to his present position, Mr. Darku served as Director, System Operations in GRIDCo. Mr. Darku held several senior management positions in VRA, including, Director, Management Information System (MIS); Director, New Business Ventures, Staff Director in the Office of the Deputy Chief Executive (Engineering & Operations), and Director, Engineering Planning & Development.

Mr. Darku holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University, USA. Mr. Darku is a Fellow of the Ghana Institute of Engineers.

Suraj Omoru Amadu kk , Director, Network Performance

Mr. Suraj Omoro Amadu has worked as an engineer for over twenty- seven (27) years. Prior to his current position at GRIDCo, Mr. Amadu held several senior positions at the Volta River Authority. These included Director, Transmission Systems, Director Materials Management and Director, Northern Electricity Department (NED).

Mr. Amadu is a Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineers and holds a B.Sc. Electrical Engineering degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Eric Asare , Director, System Operations

Mr. Eric Asare has over twenty- seven (27) years of experience as an engineer. He is experienced in the operation and dispatch of power systems and the development and maintenance of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition and Energy Management Systems (SCADA/EMS).Prior to his appointment, he was the Senior Manager, System Operations. He has also been involved in the activities of the West African Power Pool (WAPP). Mr. Asare graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Mr. Asare is a Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineers and a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), USA.

Norbert Anku , Director, Engineering

Mr. Norbert Cormla - Djamposu Anku has over twenty-seven (27) years of practical engineering experience.

He worked in various capacities at VRA. In VRA, he was Head, Transmission Planning Unit and Senior Manager, Design Services Unit among others. He holds a B.Sc. Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and a Masters degree in Public Policy and Management from Harvard University, USA.

He is a Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineers and a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers Inc. (IEEE), USA.

Isaac Kwame Akesseh , Director, Finance

Mr. Akesseh is a Chartered Accountant who has over nineteen (19) years of experience in Accounting, Taxation and Financial Management. Prior to his present position, Mr. Akesseh acted as the Chief Accountant of VRA. He has also worked with the National Revenue Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance.

Mr. Akesseh holds a B.Sc. Administration (Accounting option) Degree from the University of Ghana.

He also has an Executive Masters degree in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Ghana, Legon. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts (Ghana).

Wing Commander (Rtd.) Samuel J. A. Allotey , Director, Human Resource & Services

Wing Commander (Rtd.) Samuel J. A. Allotey, an experienced Human Resource practitioner with over 27 years experience in various technical and managerial roles, joined the GRIDCo Management Team as Director, Human Resource and Services in September 2011.

Prior this appointment, he was the Head of Human Resource for Stanbic Bank.

He also served as Officer, Commanding Engineering Wing, Air Force Base Takoradi; General Manager, Africa Online, Uganda, and Group Head of Human Resource, Africa Online Holdings, Kenya.

Wing Commander Allotey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology; a Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering from COFIDA Institute/Aermacchi, Italy and a Master's degree in Human Resource Management from Troy State University, Alabama, USA.

He also has an Executive Master's degree in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Ghana, Legon.

He is a Member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), USA, and a founding member of SHRM Ghana Forum.

Kofi Okofo Dartey , Chief Internal Auditor

Mr. Kofi Okofo Dartey has a vast experience in Internal Auditing which spans over eighteen (18) years. He has worked with National Industrial Company Limited, Internal Revenue Service, Oando (Unipetrol) Ghana Limited and Volta River Authority. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) Degree and a Diploma in Education (Dip Ed.) from the University of Cape Coast. He also has an Executive Masters Degree in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Ghana.

Mr. Okofo Dartey is a Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Ghana and Florida.

Mrs. Monica Nana Ama Senanu , Company Solicitor & Board Secretary

Mrs. Monica Senanu is a corporate lawyer and has over fourteen (14) years of experience. She has worked with VRA and Sam Okudzeto and Associates. Mrs. Senanu worked as a Board Secretary for the Takoradi International Company Limited and Volta Hotel Limited. She holds a Bachelor of Law degree (LLB) from the University of Ghana, Legon and a Qualified Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law. She has an Executive Masters degree in Business Administration (Project Management) from the University of Ghana, Legon.

She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and the Ghana Bar Association.

Bernard Tawia Modey , Director, Southern Network Services

Mr. Bernard T. Modey is an experienced engineer with specialization in Power System Protection. He has over 25 years experience in various technical and managerial capacities. Prior to his current position, he was the Senior Manager, Transmission Maintenance.

Mr. Modey holds a B.Sc. degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology. He also has a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Saskatchewan, Canada as well as a Masters degree in Economic Policy Management from the University of Ghana, Legon.

He is a Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineers and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), USA.

Rev. Samuel Frempong Kwofie , Director, Northern Network Services

Samuel Frempong Kwofie started his professional practice as a Protection and Control Engineer at Akosombo Power Plant in 1987. He worked as the P&C Supervisor at Kpong Power Plant as well as the Project Control and Instrumentation Engineer on the Aboadze Thermal Power Project where he undertook design reviews, installation and commissioning of the distributed control system of the plant.

He held various managerial positions including Maintenance Manager , Station Manager, General Manager all at Takoradi Thermal Power Station and Area Manager, GRIDCo, Kumasi.

S.F. Kwofie is a non-stipendary Minister in the Methodist Church Ghana and a Corporate member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers.

He holds a B.Sc (Hons) Electrical & Electronic Engineering and a Commonwealth Executive Master of Business Administration (CEMBA) degrees all from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.
